Nollywood veteran Destiny Etiko has criticized Nigerians who are excited about the return of BBNaija, despite widespread challenges affecting the country.
Big Brother Naija Season 9 has commenced, with housemates vying for a 100 million Naira prize. Fans eagerly anticipate another season of entertainment.
However, Destiny Etiko is displeased with the show’s return, expressing concern for the poor masses’ well-being. She is disappointed that people are celebrating the show’s return while many are suffering due to economic hardships, insecurity, and other traumas affecting Nigerians.
She pointed out that while some can manage the dire situation, many cannot.
Her words:
“It’s tough in our country, and I still see some people happy about BBN. Hmm, nawa ooo. Oh, you all still have enough money for data, huh? If you guys do not complain, then who am I to do so?
“I am mainly concerned about the poor masses. Just because you can survive does not mean everyone can. Crime is rampant, insecurity is the norm, and everyone is calm. The sooner we address this, the better.”
